Top Area Athletes Crush Madison Triathlon

The Greater Yellowstone Adventure Series was blessed with phenomenal weather today during its 15th annual Madison Triathlon. Winning the male category was Chris Guenther of Livingston, Montana with a time of 2:46:50. Winning the female category was Zoe Douglas of Bozeman, Montana with a time of 2:56:25. Zoe was out of Ennis Lake first and kept the pressure on the entire race. Paul Herberger holds the course record of 2:12:45 set in 2015.

The GYAS Madison Triathlon is a modified Olympic distance tri with a total ascent of over 2,000 feet as cyclists climb up and over Norris Hill with only a brief reprieve before having to sustain a gradual yet unrelenting uphill 10k run to the finish. The overall net elevation gain is 646 feet.
